The Cubs have traded balding, creepy Juan Cruz and the horrific Steve Smyth to the Braves for a lefty pitcher named Andy Pratt and a middle infielder named Richard Lewis.
Yes, Richard Lewis.

Wow, really sounds the Cubs are panicked over the Mark Prior Achilles’ thing, huh?
Sure.

Looks to be another stroke of genius from Hendry.
In Hendry We Trust!
Although I must admit giving any young pitcher to the Braves gives me stomach cramps because you never quite know what they’ll pull off.
I once said, "If you’re on the phone and the Braves offer you a trade…hang up the phone."
I’ve been right mostly.
And not just because JD Drew is hitting .833 in spring training.
According to one of the papers I saw, Andy Pratt is the son of Tom Pratt, who is the pitching coach for the Daytona Cubs. Not sure if this is of any significance, but hey, now you know.
Hey folks! I’m out for 3 weeks, so Richard Lewis will be wowing the Wrigley faithful with my standup act and my infieldinG!
One of the deep thinkers on Cubstalk.com said that Andy Pratt is the son of Todd Pratt "who’s in the Cubs organization." First off, Todd would have been about nine when he fathered Andy, and secondly, the guy must have been posting from 1996.
But check out the chicklets on Andy Pratt:

He’s got Will Cunnane serial-killer potential written all over him.
The trade is pretty obviously Pratt for Cruz and the one thing the Cubs lack is MLB ready lefties. They have lots of good ones in the system, but only Felix Sanchez is anywhere near Wrigley-ready.
As for Lewis he didn’t hit .240 at AA last year, and he’s going to be 24 this year, so I wouldn’t hold my breath on seeing him hanging out in the Cubs dugout, dressed in all black, running his hand through his hair and acting like Dusty’s his therapist.
Hey Jose (#5)! I’ll get cut by the Twins soon, so I can come back and hang out on the bench!
Chicago here I come!
Hmmm, an open roster spot? Time for a comeback!
Hey! Just because I am a third rate comic doesn’t mean that I am a third rate ballplayer.
Juan will be a FINE AAA pitcher for the Braves, just as he was for the Cubs. I just don’t ever see him being a solid 10-15 game winner in the Majors, at least not before Guzman or one of the other Cub phenoms that are on the way. Guess we will see? Good job again by Hendry.
I think, somehow, Cruz is gonna come back and bite us in the gooch.
That’s right Big 10, I’m thinking of leaving the conference. There goes your combover index rating.
Sloth, that was my original though too, but the trade makes sense from our standpoint. Cruz couldn’t outpitch Mitre in spring training, and while system is rife with right handed talent. Most people think it’s crazy to trade pitchers with the Bravos, but Hendry is no slouch himself. After all, the Braves needed to aquire Cruz because Alfonsucka is pitching like crap.
ANDY DO ILLINI PREVIEW!!! BC BAD. ANDY GOOD.
I CAN DRIVE.
DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
