OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

He screwed up a double switch. Ramon Martinez hit a go-ahead double but was called out for batting out of order. Baker apparently tried to explain the double-switch by "pointing" to Martinez and then to the pitcher from the dugout. CB Bucknor mysteriously did not understand. The Cubs wound up winning late on back-to-back HRs by Sosa and Alou, I believe.
Yup/  That was the game when Chip Caray told us that we had to fall in love with the 2004 Cubs.  I guess it takes a turd to know loving a turd.

So, if a guy has tickets to today's game, and wants to find out if the game will be delayed/ppd - what is the best source for that information?

I don't want to drive in from Glendale Heights if I don't have to.

I couldn't believe they left him in to pitch yesterday.  And I wouldn't be surprised to find out that when the swelling goes down that it's completely torn.  When you partially tear a ligament the pain is caused by the remaining fibers hanging on while you are moving around.  If you tear it completely you have initial pain but then there's nothing constricting your movement so that pain goes away.  Until it swells up like a beach ball.  Which, is exactly what it sounds like happened to Gallardo.

So leaving him in to pitch probably didn't hurt his ACL any more than it would have been, but it left him open to tearing up the rest of the knee because it would have been unstable.
Who knew?  Marketing directors for schools of higher education are required to have medical degrees.

Sounds as if you thought it was "wise."
It's the years, honey.  Not the dollars.

I just remember reading somewhere that the length and size of the contract wasn't an issue.
Read closer. I didn't care about the dollars.

The Tribune didn't care about the length.

I care deeply about the length of a moop like Soriano's contract.

Long season.

I'll say this though--Soriano and his drunken-polar-bear-on-a-unicycle act needs to be taken down for defense in later innings.  No need having that clown with an irrelevant glove stapled to his hand out there in a  close games.

How Cub that the Soriano signing is looking a HUGE, Hampton-esque, Zito-esque FA disaster right about now. Ugh. That 40/40 season in Washington is already a distant memory.
Shut up, Chuck.  Oh, wait.

New record: HelloWorld is drunk at 9:40 a.m.

Yeah, but Oleg did a wake & bake at 6:30.

I refuse to believe that.

That Oleg woke up at 6:30.

That's what time they rousted him at the White Castle tourtured him at Guantanamo Bay.
Sequeled.

Chickdickens (2)

I'm sure my KurtEvans will be thrilled to be called ChickDickens by a bunch of strange men from the internet. Or ChickDuckens by a bunch of dyslexic ones.

Better than Deep Dickens.

I'm going to be in for 2.  The Wife is going to attend.  Now all of you will know how cochlear implantation makes living with me possible.

I would have thought just the opposite.
It can be turned off.

My dad insists that he heard that it was in a bar, but that we know the guy who hit tHom.

Let's just say he currently is missing both of his legs.

Oh, how I've always hoped Ron really did punch that douche in the head.
Josh Lewin's real name is Ron?

Because that's basically you just saying "if Lee keeps hitting well, it's good for the Cubs."
Basically.  Exactly, it says, he's exceeding expectations.  It doesn't mean I was wrong about last year.  It means I was wrong in thinking he'd never get back to 2005.

I'm glad DLee looks like he's going to prove me wrong.  Anytime Felix would like to hop on board that train would be ok by me too.

I'd be nice to hear from Chuck right about now, considering his petulant comparison of DLee to Mark Grace.

Oh, I forgot.  Chuck never admits when he's wrong.
Right.
