Boston Herald reporting that Theo is "on the brink" of joining the Cubs.

Still to determine:
- Compensation for Sox (Soto and Grabow FTW)
- How many titles they'll have to invent beyond GM to give Theo

Speculation has really heated up over the last few hours. Of course no one has anything concrete to add. But real people like Gammons are chiming in.

I still think Jon Heyman is as retarded as Doc after an ether binge.

Of course, Red Sox fans are saying that they're fine with it and they're big fans of Ben Cherington. Of course they are. He's got an extensive resume to be proud of.

The real question? Did they even interview Frank Quade?

I will say it yet again: Thompson's depiction of ether intoxication is fanciful at best.

Can you help me live a little more?  I expect good news.

I haven't paid enough attention to baseball this year to even know who Brett Jackson is, but if he's as untradeable as Felix Pie or Hee Seop Choi or Josh Vitters or any of those pitchers everyone was whining about trading in 05/06, then I say bring in the cute Jewish boy.

Vitters is untradeable because he's E-ramis' replacement.

Prime pitching prospects such as the Red Sox' very own Rich Hill? He's the next Barry Zito.
